Matthew J. Jones joined the firm of Counsel in October of 2023. He has extensive civil litigation and trial experience in all counties of New York City, Westchester, Rockland and Long Island. During his career he has developed an excellent reputation for successfully defending and litigating matters involving labor law, products liability, medical malpractice, dram shop liability, construction, automobile and premises liability.
Previously he worked as counsel to State Farm Insurance Company, White Rose Food Division (DiGiorgio Corporation), the Robert Plan, Hereford Insurance Company, National General Insurance Company, and Allstate insurance Company. Additionally, he has lectured on civil practice issues at New York's State Bar Association continuing education programs. He was honored by the Court Officer’s Benevolent Association of Nassau County with its Jurisperitus Award in 1991.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from NYU School of Business in 1979, and earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1981. He is admitted to the bar in the state of New York and U.S. District Court in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
