Kelly E. Wright joined Devitt Spellman Barrett following her graduation from St. John’s Law School in 2004. At Devitt Spellman Barrett, Ms. Wright has been involved in all areas of the practice, including the firm’s complex state and federal civil rights and land use cases, including cases brought pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1983, Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the New York State Human Rights Law. Ms. Wright frequently appears in federal court and handles all aspects of this litigation, from inception through trial, including preparing pleadings, drafting discovery demands and responses, conducting depositions and public hearings, and preparing dispositive motions.
Ms. Wright is also heavily involved with the firm’s premises and school district liability caseload, in connection with which she practices in all state courts on Long Island and New York City. She handles all aspects of this litigation, has conducted countless municipal hearings and depositions, and authored numerous successful motions.
Ms. Wright was admitted to the New York State Bar in January of 2005. In 2006, she was admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and to the Southern District of New York in 2009. During that same year, she was admitted to the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
