DSB was successful in moving for summary judgment on behalf of a school district located on Long Island. Plaintiff was struck by a car as she was walking home from school. Plaintiff alleged that the district was negligent for failing to provide crossing guards. The Supreme Court of Suffolk County found that DSB affirmatively established that the district did not owe plaintiff a duty of care and had no obligation to provide crossing guards during early dismissal. Accordingly, DSB’s motion for summary judgment was granted in its entirety.
